Dr Adrian Ashton
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
Adrian is a clinical psychologist who completed his Bachelor of Psychology and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Griffith University on the Gold Coast. Adrian’s doctoral research investigated the effects of thought suppression on obsessive thinking, a process that affects many people with anxiety and OCD.
Adrian has experience working within public and private sectors, working with local government, Child and Youth Mental Health Service, disability services, and aged care. He is very passionate about treating and supporting people who experience OCD, among other psychological difficulties. Adrian previously coordinated the Gold Coast OCD Support Group.
Adrian has been working in private practice since 2009, and enjoys becoming a team with clients to help them through life’s difficulties. He assists clients to live more functional and rewarding lives, through using a scientific, evidence-based approach, while also being warm and engaging. Adrian uses a client-centred approach to ensure treatment works best for each client.
